Sort-of librarian, cat butler, massive gay, he/him, opinions are mine.
Very fascinated by ministers having the ability to appoint people who can influence organisations within their remit and then just not bothering.

I would love to understand what the media strategy is in a brittle and already very unpopular chancellor doing two interviews in two days moaning about how people don't take her seriously enough, the week before what will most likely be her last budget.

Trying to get myself in the mood to leave the house for a solo dinner as the restaurant won't do same day cancellations and my other half is ill.

(I swear to God if they try to seat me at the counter)

You've not been underestimated! People have assessed you and think you're no good! Shouting I'M CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER at hapless businesspeople isn't going to change that!

In the spirit of trying to post about something, anything other than the binfire that is politics right now.

The BBC needs a new DG who can help them navigate a future of finding funding outside the licence fee you say.

(Also Lisa Nandy - who knew there could be a culture minister more obviously asleep at the wheel than Catherine Martin!)

The interview is actually less scolding than the headline suggests, but he still doesn't really give any indication of how they might go about winng back progressive voters. What's the vision! What's the offer! www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

"The Left won't know how to attack her" ok fine but her constituents might though!

(Given that they are obsessed with the next election rather than governing it's very funny this hasn't crossed their minds)

The Baader Meinhof Complex is a terrific film, even more so should you ever try to slog through the terrible source material. In the end I skipped to the bits I was interested in and even they were turgid.

With another day of revelations from various Irish presidential candidates we need to accept there's only one woman for the job. It's time to #TakeTwinkUpTheÁras

Has this creature turned my brain to soup? Yes.

Is she getting me through these trying times by emptying my brain of all thoughts but cat whenever I look at her? Also yes.

In a few short minutes of snoozing next to me the cat has tried not one but two adorable sleep postures.
