For the past nine days, California's Central Valley has been shrouded by an indigenous weather phenomenon known as Tule fog, which can reduce visibility markedly on state highways. The before-and-after satellite photos of the region are striking.

The ESPN Gameday folks are ditching Saturday's Big Ten Championship Game between Ohio State and Indiana in favor of the SEC title contest with Georgia and Alabama, which makes perfect sense once you remember that ESPN has contractual obligations with the SEC for broadcast rights.

The old airport's main terminal building later functioned for decades as a warehouse. It was painstakingly restored in 2010-14 by the Walt Disney Co. to the Spanish revival / art deco grandeur of its 1930s-era heyday, and now houses film offices and also functions as an event center.

I can appreciate the importance of having faith in someone. But blind faith without reason - or worse still. in the face of all evidence to the contrary - is the hallmark of a chump who's ripe for the harvest.

The marketing for the new "Wicked: For Good" movie has been relentless, with TV specials, etc. But while the first "Wicked" was a fun movie, I think that its follow-up, like so many sequels before, is likely going to sink under its own weight of lofty public expectations.
