And my sincere apologies to Steve Lake, who does fit the top right square. Your grids are still the best grids, but on the day of the Game, you don't fit the theme.

Nine Michigan Wolverines, with some slap dash copy and paste to show most in the right cap. As far as I can tell, there are no pictures of Charlie Gehringer's time playing for the freshman team. Ted Simmons graduated from Michigan but did not play baseball there. #GoBlue

All Cubs, with some slap dash copy and paste to show them all in the right cap. I had to research to find Terry and Vander Meer.

Funny - I didn't even think of him.

Also, props to @immaculategrid.com for making a grid on Thanksgiving with only squares Turkey Stearnes fit.

For Thanksgiving, had to have Turkey, Stuff(y Mc)in(nis)g and Pie - though I'm bummed there were no spaces Yam Yaryan fit. Then six Cubs, with some slap dash copy and paste to show Irvin in the right cap. I miss them, but am so thankful to have met Banks and watched Sandberg. #RynoStrong #FO23VER

All Cubs, with some slap dash copy and paste to show most of them in the right cap - I never have found a picture of Márquez as a Cub.

Gonzalez played 141 games for Cleveland. Only 1 on his 2005 stint, but he played a full season for them in 2001. I remember him signing with them because the Tigers were really surprised they weren't able to retain him.

Robert Thomas, known as "Red", played eight games for the Cubs in 1921. I may have to work him into a grid sometime soon.

All Cubs, with some slap dash copy and paste to show them all in the right cap. Had to research for Royal / Guardian.

Yeah, you're clearly correct. I just didn't know that.

I had no idea that the grid's draft category allowed players who had been drafted by the team but not played for them. Useful information for the future.

Oh, wow. I wish I'd checked bluesky yesterday. I hope you'll do this again.

All Cubs, with some slap dash copy and paste to show them all in the right cap, and one spot where I do not think any Cub fits. I had to research for the middle square. Shawon-O-Meter: 43 grid appearances - and rising! #RynoStrong #FO23VER

I think within the group of us that post only players from one team it is almost a badge of honor to come up with the player that was only briefly on that team.

If you ever decide you want to use Rangers that won Rookie of the Year elsewhere, Jose Canseco and Jason Jennings fit those squares.

That's not Ron Kittle! I mean, it kind of looks like him, but there aren't any glasses.

Trevor Cahill's still pitching? Wow!

Games to sets didn't bother me, but going to all rally scoring annoyed me. Even though the big comebacks rarely happened, it always left hope in a way that rally scoring doesn't.

Athletics probably should have been less of a factor in my college decision, but that's easier for middle aged me to say than it would have been for teenaged me to hear.

The corollary to yesterday's tongue in cheek is today. Happy birthday to Ken Griffey, Jr., the second-best left-handed hitting outfielder born in Donora, PA on November 21st.

Seven Cubs and two Michigan Wolverines where no Cub fits. (Hill and Sorensen are both Cubs and Wolverines). Some slap dash copy and paste to show them all in the right cap. I had to research to find Morse.

I don't really remember why he became my favorite player - I suspect a combination of Steven being my middle name and his moustache looking like my father's. I came to love his defense (he had the best arm of his era) and that, like me, he wasn't the best player but always played his hardest.
