Suddenly I'm more in favor of this 'war on christmas' concept than I could have ever imagined possible.

I'm sorry but Kings Of Hell just launched and that's just no contest, by an order of magnitude.

I say this as someone who managed to finish the game despite being VERY BAD AT PUZZLE GAMES.

Ha, yep, basically my advice for anyone playing Void Stranger. If you think you're stuck or missing something, just keep going. It'll eventually click.

Nothing, which is a bit of the problem when ICE started using the Pokemon 'gotta catch em all' theme accompanying videos of immigrants being brutalized.

It's basically a Giallo-style film in videogame form. Which checks out, because that's what Santa Ragione's previous game was too.
Saturnalia on Steam
A Single-Player Survival Horror Adventure: play as a cast of characters exploring an isolated village haunted by an ancient ritual—but beware, its labyrinthine roads will change each time you lose all...

The first versions were a few years earlier (it was one of the first few Early Access games, I believe) but it built up to a peak in 2016.
December 5, 2025 at 9:31 PM
Ha, cute. Nuclear Throne just hit a new all-time peak player count on Steam. Granted, the previous peak was only ~1200, but that was a lot for an indie game in 2016!

I've seen some Very Smart People tell me that those globe-spanning megacorporations are powereless against the US government and could never demand that the administration stop using their IP to promote fascism.

No, they're just cowards. Or fascists. One or the other. Or both.

As someone who follows the Doom scene pretty closely, I haven't heard or seen any of that. Which probably means that the vast majority of people haven't either. Genuinely best to just ignore them.

It's fine to find other people's art or kinks repulsive. You don't have to like what exists in other people's heads. But until they actually cause any tangible harm (and feeling icky isn't tangible), there's literally no harm done.

And that's one of those uncomfortable truths you have to deal with.

I'm guessing he was in one of the Bluesky games industry starter pack things.

I was going to grumble at you for adding yet another interesting game to my wishlist, but apparently it was already on there.

So I'll just grumble at my past self.

Far as I can tell, the entire GZDoom team and community just moved seamlessly to UZDoom with the exception of Graf Zahl, who they'd been side-eyeing for years anyway.

As far as community drama goes, it was surprisingly undramatic.
December 5, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Honestly, the fall of GZDoom was the smallest of speed-bumps. It took them like two weeks for the entire community to ditch it and just spin up their own, slightly better version.

The thing with NWN2 is that there really wasn't much they COULD do with the game. Its flaws were mostly structural, and short of a complete remake, I'm not surprised it remained largely unchanged.

But in this case, the game has been completely disassembled and rebuilt several times over.
December 5, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Very. The game was barely functional without their work - similar situation to Vampire: Bloodlines. Also same studio as Vampire: Bloodlines.
December 5, 2025 at 6:22 PM
For those unaware, Temple Of Elemental Evil was hugely rushed out & also hit with some nasty last-minute censorship in order to get the age-rating down. Much like Vampire: Bloodlines, it had good bones but the meat was falling off.

The community have spent DECADES fixing, restoring & expanding it.
December 5, 2025 at 6:20 PM
Given that it's involving both the Co8 and Temple+ teams and mentioning them by name on the store page, I am not nearly as skeptical.

They've been systematically replacing the entire game's guts for *decades*.
