Found this last night. It's not my doggy as she doesn't eat cherries and I don't think it's fox as it doesn't really smell of anything much. Any ideas "PooSky". Is it hedgehog? @katebradbury.bsky.social @hedgehoghugh.bsky.social

Blue-sky hive mind, I want to top my #wildlifepond with the rain butt water but it has been there a while and looks a bit brownish. Is it OK? We keep them covered. @nicwilson.bsky.social @katebradbury.bsky.social

My eyes are bigger than my greenhouse. Goodness knows what happens when they need potting on. You'd have thought I'd have learnt by now @nicwilson.bsky.social

#gardenwildlife upgrade! Alongside the newly laid hedge and in space made by that and removing an old conifer and brick firepit we have:

1 hibernaculum
1 rowan tree
5 square metres of newly sown perennial meadow

Very excited. Rain please! @nicwilson.bsky.social @katebradbury.bsky.social

I adore these female tawny mining bees. They are welcome to vulcanise my entire lawn but I wanted to check how I keep them safe? Can I mow and when? No hurry but I (and presumably they) would prefer it shortish. Lots of long grass elsewhere. @katebradbury.bsky.social

One horrid firepit that needs to go, some turf from re-edging the veg plot, a scattering of compost and hey presto, a mini-hibernaculum! No expensive top soil, no tip-run, more time for a coffee and throwing the doggie her ball (my true purpose).

#Wildlifegardening, more fun less effort!

Finally got the hedge laid in our garden (I didn't do it myself I hasten to add!). Now that it's done it fells a bit ground zero. Hope I have done the right thing. More photos to follow as it evolves... #hedges #hedgelaying #gardenwildlife

We got our hedge laid last week. It all looks a bit ground zero. Have to keep the faith that it will be better for wildlife eventually but can't help feeling right now that its made things worse. Must have removed loads of insects homes in all the brash

Friday morning, 5 below, deep frost. Aching fingers, cold teeth. The sun finally makes it over the horizon and spills across the field, transforming the teasels into sparkling, spiky jewels. I feel immersed, connected and at peace. I tuck the moment snugly inside my coat and take it home.

Thrilled to discover this collared earthstar at the back of the garden today. Signs of a deeper and richer ecosystem starting to build i hope. #fungi #wildlifegardening

The little copse, branches stark against the sky, is back-lit against a curling mist. A song thrush tuning up in anticipation of a distant spring.

A dreary day, suddenly transformed into the magical, ethereal.

I remember anew, it's not where you look but how
