Chemsex is on the rise along with addiction, overdoses and stigma.

By sharing your experiences – what’s used, how often, where and what support is missing – you’ll help shape better services and influence change.

We're sharing what all Londoners should know:
That condoms, PrEP and regular testing help to prevent HIV
And that Undetectable equals Untransmittable: that with effective medication, people living with HIV can live long, healthy lives, and HIV can't be passed on.
August 11, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Most Londoners don’t know enough about HIV, and what they can do to help stop new transmissions.

But there’s a lot you DO know about being a Londoner.

We're incredibly excited to TODAY launch our new campaign inviting all Londoners to help prevent HIV together.

"It wasn't an individual. It was a system".

Our Lead Commissioner Marc Thompson joined others in sitting with family and friends for a beautiful, raw conversation about living with HIV and about HIV stigma.

It wasn't until the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 2000 that the age of consent for gay men was finally equalized to 16 - a crucial step towards legal equality, ensuring that all young people, regardless of their sexual orientation, were subject to the same legal standards and protections.

The movement in the UK to reduce the age of consent for gay men to 16 was a significant campaign aimed at achieving equality between heterosexuals and homosexuals. Activists argued that the disparity in age of consent was discriminatory and perpetuated stigma against the LGBTQ+ community.

If you like tongue-in-cheek.... read on...

In the 1990s, Gay Men Fighting AIDS played a pivotal role in HIV prevention & awareness within the community. The org was known for its innovative & bold approach to health promotion, often using explicit content to convey messages about safe sex.

Another gem from the archives for LGBTQ+ History Month

In the 1980s & 1990s, community orgs, lesbians, & others in #London played a crucial role in supporting people living with HIV or dying from AIDS. Spaces like London Lighthouse (who published this 1991 press ad) provided essential services.
