Thoroughly enjoyable couple of afternoons in the company of Nick Morris, thanks to @michaeljecksauthor.bsky.social A complex plot but written so it was easy to follow. Really evocative descriptions of Piacenza, characters you can visualise, and a lovely dry humour throughout.
Highly recommend!

Please support her any way you can : via her bookshop.org page, by emailing/DMing her, or by popping in (- the coffee and cakes can now be highly recommended!).
And yes, I **may** have left with a souvenir or ten 🤭

Karma for @telltales.bsky.social doing the same thing to me today!
I was packing for upcoming hols, picked up my stack of Les-ordered holiday reading, and willpower failure happened. Five hours later not a thing has been packed but I can confirm that this is absolutely superbly brilliant!!

Having taken me around New Zealand via Australia, including an enforced 48 hour delay in Auckland due to the Heathrow power outage, @telltales.bsky.social is hopefully going to entertain me on the way home (- with a little help from @tracyborman.bsky.social)

Have taken the Christmas decorations down, it's started to snow, so nothing else for it but to retire to the sofa with a glass of wine and my literary crush, Sir Baldwin...
Cheers @michaeljecks.bsky.social !

I had the most wonderful surprise from my husband on Christmas day. A @awatercolouraday.bsky.social original - this beautiful wren.
The posts here are stunning, but you don't appreciate the detail, colour, and delicacy of these birds until you see them for real.
I am thrilled beyond measure!

Spent a fabulous few hours in the company of the Fairway Players, courtesy of @janicehallett.bsky.social.
LOVED it! Made me chuckle, chortle, gasp, and I completely failed to work out whodunnit until it was it spelled out.
Highly highly recommended!

Still reading Burke & Hare - finding it a bit heavy going tbh - but loving the final book in Kate Mosse's Joubert Family Chronicles.
