my 13 year old daughter was just talking about this the other day, she's excited to work on again... I think this will be year 4 doing it and year 3 doing it together.

When my kids were little, one of them told me about 'meme numbers', like 420 and 69... in his words they didn't mean anything and were just funny numbers.

I wouldn't say it's anti-science, I'd like them gone because we don't need them, they offer no nutritional benefit.

Never played dwarf fortress, but still enjoyed your 4 episode recap of the design of it. fascinating and great story about two brothers who succeeded creatively and financially by just focusing on trying to succeed creatively.

Haven't played it (yet), but spitface sounds like a better miniboss... I mean what's worse than being spit in the face!

bringing back manufacturing is the funniest thing about the tariffs. With Canada, he threatened tarries on raw materials... steel, aluminum, potash, oil/gas....I'm sure manufacturers were just waiting for steel prices to jump by 25% before they pulled the trigger on building a new production plant.

lol, yes, Canada repeated the promise they made 2 months ago...... there is a reason he wouldn't take a call from Canada for a month, this was all posturing to his base to distract from other stuff he's doing.

While the markets dove a bit (2%), I think if Trump hadn't backed down yesterday they would have dropped significantly more. the 2% was just people hedging bets in case he didn't.

Ultimately in 30 days at the last minute he'll back down again... and again... and again.

I mean, my brain has a hard enough time switching to/from inverted y-axis controls between games or even in the same game (I'm looking at you astroboy with your bow and arrow level!)

I have no clue why Nintendo did a,b,x,y instead of a,b,c,d. I never really owned any nintendo consoles until the switch.

I mean I would also do it clockwise so 12 o'clock is circle, 3 o'clock is x, 6 o'clock is triangle and 9 o'clock is square. not that I could change it now.

funny, I always thought it was

○ - one line to make shape
X - two lines
△ - three lines
□ - four line

so it matched the nintendo controllers
a = 1
b = 2
x = 3
y = 4

Honestly I usually see the highlights via instagram, and I just click quickly through the stories to get to the final score. It's just so common to see the story bit of the isles winning 3-1 in the second intermission and the next story bit shows losing final score 5-3. Starts to make me laugh now

I'm in as well... it always reminds me of how much math I have forgotten over the years!

tsk tsk tsk, typical iron on iron crime!

Two doors open and two door completed... I know not to get too confident as my permutations and combinations math lessons from 20 years ago aren't going to hold up (as usual)

I think I'll use blusky to post how I worked out answers as I do them, but I'll do them in the comments so as not to spoil them.
