Old soul. Multilingual. Writer, explorer, hiker. Most of my heroes are dead.
The rich always play by their own rules. They’ve bought the politicians and consultants to write the rules. Not only do we need campaign finance reform, but strict laws prohibiting Congress from trading on inside information. Also, somehow strike down Citizens United. Corporations aren’t people.

of consumers who seemingly sell their souls for marginally cheaper prices and convenience.
Also, I listen to a lot of French podcasts and now can say the guests/hosts definitely feel Europe and the U.S. have very different values. And today the moderator actually said, “U.S. is no longer our ally.”

Indeed. And even when a utility is regulated by a government entity, there’s sometime a too cozy relationship between the utility and the State. (I had personal experience with this.) I’ve felt the same way watching companies destroy the social fabric of communities. Some blame to be had on the part

Guess he’s afraid of being outclassed by another black man. I met Governor Moore long before he ran for office, and in addition to his intelligence and compelling story, he has a genuine and easy smile that lights up any room.
