Never really had anything negative like that in person, fortunately. It mostly came down to innocent curiosity, trying to be helpful, or trying to bond (“Hey, are you from Puerto Rico too?”).

I’ve gotten a bunch of that. I’ve also been called Latino (Puerto Rican if they were being specific) by multiple people, some of whom were Latino themselves. My “driver’s license name” does happen to be Spanish/Portuguese, which may contribute. Got no problem with it so long as intentions are good.

Southern European (Portuguese) ancestry here and I’ve seen us referred to as “brown” (FWIW, I don’t consider that an insult) just a few weeks ago.

Regrettably I do. Never having heard of him before I tuned in thinking he was some new shock jock type. After what seemed like 10 minutes of nothing but complaining about Bill Clinton, I changed the channel.
