I am reading both Tender is the Flesh and Shadow and Bone. I did not want to read TITF on it's own.

I am always about making my stories better. I want them to be good enough to get out into the world, to be read and appreciated. To be something people can relate to, something they can find inspiration from.

When I am drafting, I love drafting. I love pulling the story from my mind and watching it unfold on the page, of learning more about my characters and what they go through as the story unfolds. When I am editing, I love editing. Every time I come back to the manuscript I improve it, make it better.

So I applied to join an expedition that will get me out of the house for a couple of months, and grant me enough prestige to move away from home for good. But AITA for abandoning my family to seek my freedom?

I (19F) have a mentally ill father, a mother who's spent all of my teenage years at his side, and five older siblings. Now that my siblings have left home, mom is relying on me to provide respite. But my father's episodes affect me greatly.
