It felt great celebrating two events in South Harrisburg last week! 🌳
First, i kicked things off with a tree planting alongside Secretary Dunn and Mayor Wanda Williams.
Next, i joined a health fair and food giveaway sponsored by the PA Legislative Black Caucus.

Rep. Fleming and I toured the apprenticeship program in Hamburg 👷🏽‍♂️🔥
These programs train our youth for good-paying union careers — and they get paid while they learn.
Big shoutout to the Sheet Metal Workers for inviting us to see this great pathway to the middle class 💪🏽

We all deserve to show up as ourselves. The PA CROWN Act is almost law — protecting locs, braids, twists, afros, and every natural style. 👏🏾✊🏾👑

The past few weeks have been busy celebrating Diwali with our Nepali community, joining the homecoming parade, and showing up at events all across the 104th. In between it all, we’re grinding away on the state budget and yes, even Mike Tyson stopped by Harrisburg.

Happy Labor Day! 💪🏾 Today we honor the workers who power this country. Thanks to unions we have weekends, paid leave, safer jobs & more—and we’ll keep fighting until every worker has dignity, security & fairness. #LaborDay

If Democrats want to win this November, we can’t just show up a few weeks before Election Day—we need to be out in every community, every day.💪🏾 I was proud to join a boxing event recently to talk about the power of registering to vote and turning out strong at the polls! 🗳️✨

Currently at the Damian Marley concert in Harrisburg and I’ve found my true calling in life—waving a giant flag for a reggae band.

It’s been a full few weeks—inside the Capitol and out in the community.

Grateful for the chance to serve, connect, and recharge with family along the way.

Busy Saturday! Honored to join the 2024 Hbg School District Athletic Hall of Fame—congrats to all the inductees! Then joined @SenatorPattyKim in E-Town for a ribbon-cutting with Upward Broadband. Proud to support rural internet access through House Appropriations.

Another great Saturday in the 104th! Stopped by the 8th Annual Veterans Chili Cook-Off in Lawnton—our district knows how to cook! Great seeing Tom Zimmerman from Veterans Outreach of PA. Wrapped the day celebrating the retirement of Rebi Marc & his wife Lori!

This Memorial Day weekend, our community showed powerful remembrance and patriotism—from spaghetti in Penbrook to the Blue Angels in Middletown, honoring Black vets in Oberlin to celebrating service in Highspire. We will never forget those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Incredible day celebrating the next generation of leaders! Honored to attend Penn State Dickinson Law Commencement—future judges, DAs & SCOTUS clerks in the making. Also joined NAACP ACT-SO to celebrate local youth winning awards for poetry, dance & photography. Future is bright

I swear I’m busier when the House isn’t in session! Grateful to be out and about in the district — this community never slows down, and I love it. So many incredible events, activities, and people making things happen every day. Truly proud to represent such an amazing place.

Already seeing so many folks sending back their mail-in ballots!
If you’re a Democrat in Dauphin County, don’t miss two great candidates for Judge of Common Pleas: Katy McShane (see my last post) and La Tasha Williams.
La Tasha brings integrity, compassion, and experience — proud to support her!

I received my mail-in ballot this week and wanted to lift up an incredible candidate for Judge of Common Pleas: Katy Kennedy McShane.

Over the past year, Katy’s joined me at union rallies, knocked doors, and shown up for our community. She’ll make an outstanding judge.

Another great weekend out in the community! Honored to join the Dauphin County delegation in welcoming students for the YMCA PA Youth & Government Weekend. Proud to support the next generation of leaders as they debated the issues of tomorrow!

I didn’t come to this rally over Easter weekend to debate policy—we’re a few court orders away from a constitutional crisis.

My union brother Kilmar Garcia won in court and was still deported. That’s lawless.

Shoutout to Rep Nate Davidson for standing with me in this fight

Busy but meaningful week. Watched new CASA volunteers sworn in by Judge Morris—they’ll advocate for foster kids in court. Also joined Judge Powell at a Naturalization Ceremony. Always inspiring to witness folks become U.S. citizens. Grateful to be part of both moments.

Thanks PSEA for inviting me to speak at the Southern Region Unionism & Solidarity Summit. I spoke about growing up the son of teachers and how public education & unions built our middle class. Let’s keep organizing for a better future! #UnionStrong #Solidarity

The Trump Administration's radical reduction of federal agency workforces puts Pennsylvanians' safety and public services at risk. Urge your represntatives to support my Civil Service Reform Act as we need qualified, experienced people working in the Commonwealth now more than ever!

Thought it was just allergies—turned out to be a rough cold. Still masked up & joined Sen. Kim + the Dauphin County House Delegation to talk budget + regional priorities. Too important to miss. Left feeling energized, then went home to rest up.
