I attended Calvary Church in Clearwater Florida. I am with you. Read the Bible a number of times and just couldn't reconcile it all.

I have listened to numerous sermons by a well known Southern Baptist preacher in Florida named Willy Rice. This is spot on. I was always amazed on how he would spend most of the sermon preaching hate and divisiveness and then at the end try to tell everyone to love their neighbor!

Willy Rice will probably misuse a quote from the Bible that he will interpret to show that God forbids women from being the head of committees or something of that nature.

Willy Rice was trying to show his conservative core by pushing to ban the ERLC. Trying to make up for his past liberal sins I guess, however, I honestly believe that if we disband the ERLC we are cutting off our collective nose to spite our face.

This is where the hypocrisy becomes so evident. If you listen to sermons from Willy Rice or other SBC pastors they repeatedly drone on about their unwavering love of Jesus Christ and how they strive to emulate Jesus in their daily life. They then turn a blind eye to sexual harassment and rape.

Yea, that's him. This was around the time he was running for the president of the SBC. He had to drop out of that when it was discovered that he knowingly hired someone who was involved in immoral sexual behavior at another church. If I find the article, I will post it.

Yea, I posted on this earlier. In the article the mayor claims, "All I did was a proclamation. Personally, I support it , but it's not a city event or activity. They asked me to consider a proclamation, and so I did."
