Bingo. If they thought it would be more profitable to charge $100 a game they absolutely would, it’s economics 101. I’d be fine paying $100 for a game if they weren’t nickel-and-dime-ing me on the back end, but Activision would happily charge $100 up-front and still release premium cosmetics.

AirPods are the only product I buy AppleCare for because I break one or both about every six months just by sweating on them. TBF I run outside in Houston, so I sweat a lot, but still.

Fun fact, every song in Singing in the Rain was popular before the movie. It’s a jukebox musical!

This would be like someone chortling, “oh ho ho, you think it’s quite cold out, but what if I told you it’s actually over 200 degrees?” because they’re measuring in Kelvin.

As a Houstonian I have several friends who are various generations of immigrant, and it’s wild how quickly people assimilate. First generation is as American as Apple pie, and by the third they’re joking about how white they act. The idea that there’s some sort of invasion is batshit.

Yeah, kinda wish Strahan got it in 2008 as a representative of the line.

Strahan retired after the first Super Bowl. Are you thinking of Justin Tuck?

That said, I don’t know if anyone has brought up the fact that casinos are so reliant on addicts that it creates really fucked up incentives that the government isn’t addressing at all.

Everyone’s sharing the Drew Gooden video, which is great, but Coffeezilla has an incredible series exposing the pernicious way CSGO streamers funnel teen boys to online casinos and Valve just looks the other way.

Bingo. I think republicans expect the backlash to solely hit Elon rather than the party.

Scooter basically being Ikari Shinji really tracks. And I guess this makes Piggy Asuka.

The ur-example of this to me is Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford are supposed to be comedy gods, but every sketch we actually see isn’t very funny. TV Tropes calls it an “Informed Attribute”, a character trait we’re told about but never actually see.

Wild that the worst framing they could come up with is “government preparing your taxes for you”.

They also found emanations from the penumbra of scandal surrounding the Clinton Foundation sufficient to devote investigative effort to. Of course, once Trump claimed he wouldn’t implement Project 2025 they had to take him at his word.

I believe it’s the “knows its precise location in space” part that makes this impossible.

Humans existed for tens of thousands of years before bureaucracy was invented, but once it was, human civilization exploded. I genuinely do not believe it’s possible to coexist in truly large groups without it.

I’ll always have a weird soft spot for him and Matt Y because discovering their blogs as a conservative teenager was probably the biggest factor in me getting away from the conservative movement.

Honestly, Meghan McCain reflexively defending a hereditary aristocracy tracks.

Porphyrios is referenced in Moby Dick where Ishmael speculates he was a sperm whale given the sperm whale’s size and animosity.

Reinventing Critical Race Theory, but from the right, to explain why we should keep discriminating against people of color. Truly incredible things happening on the Everything App!

This is dead on, but I’m torn between feeling sorry for people who were poorly served by the MSM never challenging Trump on anything, and the fact that a lot of those people curated media environments that just made them feel better about voting for Trump this time.
