Just spoke at an event alongside a Duke Energy rep who said *this week* they started requiring new hyperscale loads to participate in demand response — a defined # hrs/yr of required load flex — and he expects it to grow. 🔌💡

🔌💡The Sunshine Notice for FERC's December Open meeting is out. RM25-3 is reliability rulemaking docket about required frequency and voltage protection settings for inverter based resources. I believe that this rulemaking will concern NERC's first phase response to FERC Order No. 901.

Tried the new Familysearch full text search feature. Amazed at what I found by just checking a few ancestors. Examples include the full record of a petition of insolvency of my GG and court case involving the unruly daughter of one of my 2 GGs. Future plans are to be more systematic.

Utilities have decent data but they mostly aren't using it well. Integrating SCADA, GIS and AMI should not be a $200mm (set on fire by contracting a large vendor) pipe dream. It's only a medium-sized data problem at most.
