Overall but that's mostly because they're shuffling the card around with less Korakuens to cycling in the new era. Miu vs Suzume is going to be hard to beat for me. The indies are also killing it. Senjo had a crazy year.

I've been very hard on bushiroad era Stardom but since Ogawa & Harada left things have turned around 100%. Talent was always there but the company itself was a nightmare. Marigold is everything I liked about pre BR Stardom mixed AWG & some killer rookies. Personal fav TJPW is in a slightly down year

Every year people complain about the tag leagues but they are designed to be slow. It gives the wrestlers and fans a rest before the new year. If there is one less obvious thing Okada has right in Stardom it's the tournaments. Every tournament has elevated the winner, a midcarder and a rookie.

I mean can you think of a named tournament in your lifetime that lasted more than a year or two? King of the Ring often didn't even main event it's own PPV. The G1 takes an entire month every summer & is the sole focus. Tournaments are so easy to understand. People make prediction brackets for fun!

Being a western puro nerd is maddening. American wrestling everyone is trained that tournaments are midcard filler, a title was vacated or an easy gimmick. In Japan tournaments are meant to be equal to winning a major title and are their own accomplishment. The comment sections haunt me every year😭

It's the first time all the rookies are on the same show they are going for it. Ema with a wild black eye had a good opener with Yuuki Mashiro. Mei/AZM/Miyu vs Kikyo/Tomoka/Lady C was awesome with Kikyo keeping highspeed pace. Matoi & Anne making up for lost time. Just need Yuria to show against FWC

AWG has always been a talent factory and a bunch of people are hoovering around 50-80 matches now where they start to show what they could be. Looking at my notes for Marino Saihara/Yukina Uehara vs Rico Fukunaga/Sakura Mizushima. It just says "Idol Dudes Rock" Rico feels like early career Miku Aono

Poorly scratch coded NeoCities 1 - Global infrastructure 0

Yeah you could tell this was a big show in name only. Figured it was a good spot to catch up from and try to stay current.

Slowly picked through my first AWG in a long time. It's not peak AWG but the AWG vibes are still real.

The squirrel girl and HIMAWARI's green friend got good. It's a shame Yui is retiring to become the new ring announcer.

I've seen a bit of Yukina Uehara (red) & knew she was good but I haven't heard of Kana Yafuku (yellow). Turns out their is a good reason. Unless they directly pointed it out I would have never known this was her debut. Expressive, adorable, moves well & isn't afraid to hit or be hit. She gets it.
