Meanwhile I still have not met a single person whose work or life has been markedly improved by this shit. Curious 🤔

If you really think the "majority of people" don't believe in the concepts of right and wrong you're kind of tipping your hand on what this is actually about.

I guess she could run purely to angle for cabinet or other appointments from the eventual nominee, as is so often the case. But nobody should be under any illusions that she could win, in this country, in 2028.

Work in what sense though? This country obviously is not ready to vote for a woman for president, and she would be eaten alive by her own party for challenging whoever they would rather run. Much easier life going forward if she just does the usual news / podcast grifter route.

I have long found the "imposter syndrome" discourse tiresome, but especially so today. Look at the most powerful people in America right now, how woefully underqualified each and every one of them is. Never fear that you have not earned your place, or proven your worth - any honest effort is valid.

If "self-harm" is against the ToS then every user of ChatGPT is definitionally in breach of it

Yeah but for these people that was never a part of the plan. If they want to get out of the way then I say good riddance.

It's almost a little surreal, watching all these tech leaders - people directly responsible for this overinvestment - now call it "irrational" and admit that they all participated in and fueled that frenzy, knowing they will bear none of the consequences. Shitty leaders used to be sacked!

Yeah though I'm kind of on the fence about what that means.. sports gambling is something people will do with or without the law behind them, and if it is regulated, we can at least claim some of that money for the state, a la lotteries. But it definitely needs to be curtailed somehow.

Sat through a presentation last week from other software engineers at my company talking about how to use "AI" coding tools, and basically everything they showed was either something I benefit from knowing how to do myself, or could easily do with a shell script instead of an LLM. Just absurdity

Jack Black is.. Karnov.

"FIRE BALL, SKA-BLAOW!!"

Streaming directly to your brain, right now - you have no choice. Enjoy Coca-Cola products with your show.

Yeah I'm ngl though if my pastor is wearing a suit like that I'm wondering where those millions of dollars in donations are normally going to

So go make a substack or something lol

omg I literally just brought this series up earlier when joking with my coworkers about how even shit like toasters and dishwashers nowadays have stupid amounts of software dependencies.. that's really what it is huh

Wtf does an AI browser do? "Hey Gork can you watch some porn for me while I sit in my chair completely idle both in body and in mind? Please describe it in great detail and from the perspective of Abraham Lincoln."

I saw a truly disgusting AI-heavy commercial the other day on an NFL broadcast that I think was for like a children's hospital or something? It had the kids singing in that distinct AI autotune way with creepy, uncanny valley faces.. just awful, depressing stuff.

I felt that way about Breath of the Wild, thinking how sad it was that I could never have that experience again, and then somehow Nintendo did it again.

I guess I feel that way about a lot of games, and the next best thing to me is watching others experience them for the first time.

What's so incredible about this is that "letting the AI do all your thinking for you" is exactly the use case they have all been selling their "revolution" on. And, it turns out, it sucks! But it couldn't be the product's fault.
September 23, 2025 at 5:34 PM
When they said "90% of code" would be written by AIs, they didn't specify how much of that code would be usable!

Yeah but like this is obviously only going to make things worse. They've been frothing at the mouth for two days over that poor Ukrainian girl, and now this? I shudder to think of the reaction
