I never played any Dragon Quest until now, but grabbed DQ1 remake and it’s genuinely fun to play. I guess it would be considered a simpler RPG by today’s standards of features, but surprisingly it’s what’s making it so captivating to me, easy to pick and play for a bit of time.

There it is, the “we want to gather as much info as possible to sell stuff to users” angle finally in full display. It will be so much easier to convince people to buy stuff by the chat “natural language text” than any ad image it’s crazy.

Now here’s a really useful technology companies should be pouring resources into optimizing and improving and would actually benefit the population. I’m surprised there’s isn’t more adoption considering how useful it is, but on the other hand this actually benefits users more, not companies.

I’m a bit upset about this one because I got the S2 version and was disappointed by this on arrival (I should have confirmed but only saw S1 had actual cart and assumed both wrong). At least it has a reversible cover I guess.

Square says game key cards are due to speed but ... Dragon Quest 1&2 remake is complete in cart for slower Switch 1 sys, Switch 2 is key-card and also that uglier (due to noticed) box. Also you can’t upgrade. SW2 was supposed to be the no-brainer pick for everything now.

A non problem these days in modern systems, but back in the day, having a game controller wire across the living room was a problem (once saw friends dog making a PS1 fly off the shelf). When OG Xbox launched the Duke controller that cord that would detached on a pull felt like a game changer!

do yourself a favor, install File Pilot and "Windows explorer" becomes usable again. So far the only caveat I found is I can't access network drives directly by UNC, only if mapped on Windows. https://filepilot.tech/

Wii U, one of my favorite consoles turns 13 years old today. It had a slow OS but a quite cozy one, probably the top one that that feeling.

I'm impressed at the amount of moving parts on screen for this game at any frame, this is not something you usually get "out of the box"

Still new to Unreal so might be dumb, but today I can't even compile because "warning as error yes" apparently one of the packages they use had a vulnerability found. How often does this happen? I know I can just download new version or pull from source but it's worrying a bit.

Just noticed Valve used Blender and Godot to showcase the Steam Machine used as a desktop computer. It's the new "mac mini"!

I don’t do the amiibo collecting but grabbed this at 18€ and couldn’t resist, it’s a very decent size/price/quality ratio for having in a desk.

new Rider 2025.3 claims to be up to 60% faster loading projects, among other speed improvements. Hope that's true because in last 18months or so I think it became less lightweight then it used to (which was the reason I started using it instead of Visual Studio) www.jetbrains.com/ri...

this is a cool package, but all game key card :( I think at least RE7 would fit on a card. even Village depending on texture compression. They compressed RE2 from 2 CDs totaling ~1400MB to a 64MB N64 cartridge, this feels way more doable.

here's something interesting, in the last 90 days 60% of the traffic on my website came from Singapore, which made Windows 7 share jump to 49%. Kudos to that one visitor rocking Windows XP!
