This strikes me as a case of whistling past the graveyard, hoping against hope that Mr. Carney's deal isn't what it appears on its face to be. Such hopeful arguments usually to turn out to be wrong. Which isn't to say the pipeline will ever get built. The market will be electrified by 2040.

The UCP had every opportunity and likely received advice to narrow the scope of the recall law to what Nicolaides falsely claims is the spirit of the law. The law was created as a weapon to use against the opposition. That's the spirit of the law. Hoisted on their own petard is a fitting description
