I like how the average of technological utopia and end of humanity is 0.2% improvement in growth. I want to see the napkin that holds that calculation just so I know which bar serves the strong drinks.

I'm enjoying using NVIDIA Warp more and more in the course. Having a simple platform for students to learn kernel-based program is useful and the fact that they can run the assignments fast on the GPUS in their laptops, lab and home machines makes it all much more enjoyable for them and me.

AFAIK it's not. really focused on spinning out companies or super applied research which is what this is about. But I'm just a dumb professor, apparently our students know all about this stuff :)

It's what we need in the now, when being welcoming and supportive to others, self-sufficient and expanding a leadership position in science and technology go hand in hand.

Canada's strength has always been its diversity, welcoming people from all over the world and helping them make a home here. This initiative is exactly in line with that philosophy.

On top of that many of those effectively required the right (ie US, in my case a postdoc at MIT) training and to know the right people. Canada is still a top notch high tech training ground but retaining talent in this way is approaching the impossible.

I immigrated to Canada when I was six years-old and a I grew up here, did most of my training here and always wanted to live here. But even 10 years ago when I was looking for permanent positions, Canada had relatively few high tech opportunities.

@rishit-dagli.bsky.social did an amazing job on this project. He’s only an undergrad and applying to grad school this year! (so keep an eye out).

I do this so I have an excuse to never lift anything in the real-world :) I'm too tired.

They do !!! That’s how I rendered that gif. It’s nice because objects are grouped properly so making changes to one frame propagates appropriately

Thanks!

Im a big proponent of any weight training. I started about a decade ago due to knee and back pain and now, even much older I have no such problems. Important to find a good coach to start though.
