Today in my class at University of Copenhagen, Emil Kjerte presented the main findings from his PhD Dissertation, Clark University, on Ustahe guards in Jasenovac. Highly recommend looking into this work and his detailed microstudies of dehumanization and brutalization.

2/3 Still humbled and thankful that such excellent scholars took time to engage so thoroughly with my work--this kind of engagement is why we do scholarly work, to be read, discussed and challenged. At the same time, I'm horrified that my remarks about our present day catastrophes still hold today..

Finally found time to dive into this amazing book by @drrobertchapman.bsky.social . Highly accessible, wonderful clear writing, gives a splendid overview over how we got to our current standards of normality in the psy-sciences and beyond. Highly recommend! And what a beautiful, imaginative cover
