Right now i fill up every couple days and usually in the outskirts as fuel is often a dollar cheaper there. An EV would force me to make increasingly greater use of my AAA membership which would get old in the second week of ownership.

I live downtown in a major metropolis, where parking is subcontracted out by the building i live in to a parking garage adjacent to the building. There are zero chargers in that parking garage. I drive 100 mi / day roundtrip to the middle of nowhere for work where there are again, zero chargers.

Agreed… there’s no bootstrap one can pull themselves up by if the system is designed for you to fail.

Sure, but again, if i want to go to the outskirts after running around town and i need fuel, there may not be charging stations in the outskirts. I can’t afford to have a car run my life because i have to tip toe around its power needs. Gas is a no brainer until the infrastructure is prevalent.

If this country weren’t run by imbeciles, we’d have high speed rail and local rail to get around making this whole car convo moot. 😉
