No bombs are especially good, but atomic bombs are to normal bombs what billionaire are to millionaires. Dropping an atomic bomb should be considered a war crime, and people are right to point out America is the only country to commit that particular atrocity.

And that while sure "it's complicated", some things are also very simple. You can twist yourselves into pretzels justifying dropping the bombs but you cannot deny it was in itself an independently horrific act, just because it was such a terrible thing it transcends context.

The fact that America is the only country that went that far is especially damning, people are right to criticise America for it, and using "but Hitler" or similar excuses doesn't actually take away from the fact that America made did that goes far beyond simple warfare

No, I'm saying the nuclear bombs were especially evil in ways we struggle to wrap our head around and not simply justifiable with "oh they were bad guys" in the same way that we don't say all forms of punishment is justified just because the person being punished was bad.

I'm not sure how you reached that conclusion at all but I guess it's along the same line of reasoning as it's somehow magically moral to mass murder entire cities of civilians if their leaders are evil.
