They’re also really easy, understandable concepts that gloss over the nuance in the real world, but they are simple to sell as a story for (usually) propaganda. Also, the author is a persuasive writer (at least to me), and I’m a layman in anthropology so his writing style worked on me.

What did he mean by this? I’m wracking my brain trying to decide if he just mistyped this or not. “Plaintiffs are unlikely to succeed… so they are unlikely to suffer harm.”

Usually plaintiffs try to succeed so they do not suffer harm?? Not the other way around??
