hard on defense. He may never have been a good fielder, but it wasn't for lack of effort. A lot of stars (especially in those days) wouldn't dive for balls and they'd kind of jog in the OF. Manny always ran hard (he had a long stride so it didn't look that hard) and he had a good arm.

Mercifully Slugger stops to pee. I never would have caught him otherwise. I gently hold his harness so he can finish whizzing. Once done I lift all 50 pounds of him up onto my shoulder with him wriggling around. He's finally secured. On the walk back home I'm afraid my heart might explode.
