I baked this strawberry cookie recipe today and decided to enhance it by mixing some powdered freeze-dried strawberries to the powdered sugar. Not realizing that, when baked, the strawberry powder would discolor so that the cookies look like they're coated with the cremated remains of my enemies.

I got my COVID booster (here in California) on Friday. All they asked (when I made the appointment) was if I had a medical condition. They did not ask what medical condition I had. Still, according to the government's inaccurate BMI measurement, I'm overweight, so I qualify.

This is the Bridge to Nowhere, in Angeles National Forest. Built as part of an unfinished highway project in the 1930s, the approaching road washed out during a 1938 flood, leaving the bridge accessible only by a 5-mile hike each way.
