You might need to /compact or /new to keep the context window sweet. Recently claude code also support skills so you can pack some instruction and let claude pickup

I have tried [spec-kit](github.com/github/spec-...) and overwhelmed by the doc hell...
But I think it is valuable to create user story first (during the /specify)
