Broken windows theory but dumber and worse.

Smell like a virgin?

I've resigned myself to believing my team (Utah) is the best team that doesn't make the playoff, but they had their shots.

I remember the first player I noticed was younger than me (Carlos Gomez, although Felix Hernandez was actually the first). I kinda dread thinking about who the last player older than me will be.

It's disgusting. It's also terrible politics! Obviously people care about this.

You're not wrong. A case could be made that the last three seasons aren't representative cause of the injury and that he'll be closer to 2025 than 2024 (or 2023). But then again aging.

He's still the best reliever on the market. I think he'll get at least 4 years and close to 20 a year if not more.

There's an argument that 2023 was a one-off freak injury and 2024 a hampered comeback season, with 2025 being a return to form (with two ticks off his fastball).

Also an argument that closers are worth more than their WAR (by WPA for instance). 5/100 still an overpay, but maybe not hugely so.

Worth noting that the article in question was actually about Johnny Cash

I'm even in the "maybe the harm reduction in ending the shutdown is worth the perception of caving or at least, I'm not suffering from the shutdown so who am I to tell sufferers to suck it up" camp and I am amazed at how many mainstream Dems are outraged.

Remember when he was accused of sexual assault and a bunch of Barstool employees tweeted about how honest he is?

It's amazing. I don't know how we wound up in a universe where Jim Harbaugh, of all people, maxed out badassedness while maxing out weird and dull, but here we are.
November 10, 2025 at 6:49 PM
That's kind of where I'm at. Would i have voted to keep holding out? Sure. But I'm luckily in a place where the negative effects of the shutdown weren't affecting me directly. So it's easy for me to say keep going.

Jury instructions is the worst part.

The guy who beat King in his primary ran on claiming that King was a distraction getting in the way of Trump's agenda.
November 7, 2025 at 8:29 PM
I'm not sure what you're trying to say.
November 7, 2025 at 7:37 PM
Parties don't often have a single leader when they don't have the presidency. They sometimes do, but they sometimes don't.

MAGA is an exception to that (during the Biden admin).

The timing makes Cornell look worse than Penn and Columbia, and they don't even have hockey teams.

I think healthy Purdy is better than Jones, but if Purdy has to play through injury, he might not be better.
November 6, 2025 at 10:25 PM
Juan Soto stealing almost 40 bases was such a tangible success that it's easy to say "we should keep that" while underappreciating the other duties of a base coach and fielding coordinator.
November 5, 2025 at 8:27 PM
I guess his defensive metrics were a little better last year? I can squint and see "guy who put up 4+ WAR season in 2 of last 3 years with above average defense and flexibility in a down FA outfield class" but yeah lot of park effect.

Also I'm not backing up "down FA outfield class" with facts.

He has way too many touches. Getting worn down.
