Over the weekend we went to visit the beautiful Reserva del Tororoi. Andean cloud forest in all its splendor. Home of the really rare 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢 𝘬a𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘪 (Cundinamarca antpitta) and many interesting insects!
After a great field trip, now come the curation phase of the specimens collected. The students are thrilled!

Getting close to the end of our field trip of our Animal Taxonomy course, at Los Monos reserve. We saw a really colorful grasshopper; a Pantophtalmidae, a really large fly; a predatory assassin bug Ricolla; and a colorful nymph of the leaf-footed bug Pachylis.

Yesterday was a little slow. We found, nonetheless, the single most exciting hemiptera in a while. A Crhyxini Reduviidae! Very rare bugs. I found it in leaf litter!

We are with students in the field trip component of our Animal Taxonomy of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. We are in Antioquia, in a karstic area with great plants and animals, at Los Monos reserve. Lot of insects to come!
