I bought SMT V and not long after that they announced SMT V Vengeance. Made me not even want to play the game any more. People held off with Metaphor and they'll do it for P6 eventually too cause I'm sure I wasn't alone in that boat.

Even if you could remove all the moral failings of Gen AI, the messaging of "We're using AI to cut costs of development," and consumers seeing games only getting more expensive is never going to work.
