Aurora pics from last night! There were just enough gaps in the clouds to get some images, I couldn't really see it by eye though.

Its routes are officially designated as part of the state highway system in recognition of the critical connections ferries provide. -Historically, ferries in the Pacific Northwest operated under coal and steam power, then diesel and diesel-electric, and now hybrid-electric -Did you know? You are on the Wenatchee. It's name comes from the word wenatchi in the Yakama language, which means river flowing from canyon. -We operate in the southern part of the Salish sea. The Salish sea includes Puget Sound, the strait of Juan de fuca, and the strait of georgi in Canada. The sea has more than 4,500 miles of coastline and more than 400 islands, including the San Juan Islands and Gulf Islands. Interpretive sign with a cutaway diagram of a hybrid ferry with the following text: -Did you know? Once shore charging is installed, as early as 2029, Wenatchee will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 95% -What does it take? It takes at least 15 mariners to operate Wenatchee. Over more than 20 hours of operation, that's at least 41 mariners per day. -Our ferries burn 19 million gallons of diesel fuel each year. We are moving to hybrid-electric vessels to reduce the use of diesel. Once Wenatchee starts charging at terminals it will burn as many as 1 million fewer gallons of diesel each year. -Who works here? Able bodied sailors. Captain and mates. Chief and assistant engineer. Galley workers. Oilers and wipers. Ordinary sailors.

Rode the battery hybrid ferry Wenatchee today! Not sure if they actually ran it on battery (it's hard to tell) but it seems like it's working well!
