"you have to vote for the questionable centrist person."

Competence, corruption, lots of good qualities outside of "agree on issues" to be included on who to vote for.

However, overall sentiment makes sense, if a candidate is 5% better by whatever measurement, why not run a primary? Which hardcore dems will rage it while using the same logic for

Slightly disappointed it isn't Niou doing a rematch. (Having the "autistic youngerish asian woman" get elected is kind of nice, though I have no solid sense of who would do a better job in congress.), but this side of things does make it funny.

I wonder how many 2022 revenge races we'll get. (Saw Niou's thread about not running again with Lander doing it, still have to see what happens in Cuellar's district. Blanking on others that could occur at the moment.)

Nitpick: The constitution says 30, but given the current age of the Senate, in practice.....

Less then I expected when you started that thread.

Have Niou do that (She has a big thread on here about not running.) then expand the house to ~500 members and bring all those people plus new ones into the house. And do something with the Senate that gets more members.

Reads like a Khive type (And I saw the original post on here, responses match this) who likes to blame various kinds of nonwhite voters for Trump getting elected.

Walk a few blocks east and grab the Brown or Purple lines. C'mon, we all know this. /s

I've scrolled down far enough to see these posts a few times, still not sure if they are sarcasm or not. (Not is probably better.)

gets shown it is weak, shows D leaning voters that Dems will actually do shit, might scare those corporate guys who are funding right wing stuff these days, probably other benefits that help electorally.

The biggest mistake is not prosecuting Trump. Which isn't usually talked about in those terms for good reason (don't want to politicize prosecutions like this), but in addition to the obvious benefit of punishing the attempt to overthrow the government, it means Trump can't run again, right wing

He never did. (It was suggested a few times but he never actually said he would do this. Was discussed a lot in 2020 and 2021.)

He has a point. One has to be accredited as a social media expert by dieworkwear.bsky.social, the original "Random person who knows a lot of details about stuff and posts about it" twitter person. Its just the law. /s

Plus all the other reasons people mention. ("Lots of people in politics lean asshole and are showing it" is a personal pick that someone else mentioned.)

high ranking dem" Ocasio Cortez and "fiight for new agency + interfvere with some Obama picks" Warren aren't very active, and doing the establishment dem thing quite often. Unlike your examples, these three (and probably others, but I don't know them as well) do have a record of better behavior.
December 7, 2025 at 11:42 PM
Non asshole politics has been beat up a lot over the past years (which is a major problem), so people inclined to be less assholish got burned out, demoralized/etc., and with less backup lots of others have been behaving badly.

I really notice it with "impeach the m*th$rf%ck@r" Tlaib, "primaried a
