Anesthesiologist and neuroscientist at University of Washington and Seattle Children's interested in neuromodulation of arousal and developing precision anesthesia.
Overall, the study suggests a strong coupling between noradrenergic signaling and movement, but a limited causal role of LC-NE in promoting behavioral arousal.

2. LC-NE activity tracks anesthetic depth, exhibits homeostatic response and neuronal inertia during arousal changes.
3. Activating LC-NE increases sympathetic, but not behavioral arousal.
4. Movement onsets & offsets are associated with distinct patterns of LC-NE activation & deactivation.
