If the content in your menu is important to your users, you'll want to show it too them by having the menu open. Google will give it more weight because its visible. When the menu is closed, it's hidden, devaluing the importance. If your content is important, you should have it open on default.

For me, and I think Googles perspective as well . . . If your menu is important you'll have it open and therefore Google will give it more weight. If its closed it gets less importance so Google gives less weight.

I've had a theory, others have had as well, that the number of visits per hour / day to your site can boost rankings. Its almost impossible to prove, but I've seen similar cases with my own clients to this case study: cognitiveseo.com/blog/7013/tr...

Mad to see Joomla and Drupal still hanging in there. Haven't had a client approach me with one of these platforms in nearly half a decade, I'd say! Would have though webflow out ranked them.
