Well based on the election material put out by candidates you needed to be a mother, grandmother above all else. I think this was more of a blindside by the campaign managers than the Irish issue. People can learn Irish. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to have kids.

I don't think the vote reflects a big move to the left. Low turnout, and record spoilt vote. Clearly the left presented the best candidate, but 50 something % did not vote. Largely the central vote is bet. Still a good successor to MDH.

Yes, I just need to borrow someone from NMI for the day. I've only ever seen the plaster cast of the Ratoo. I'm sure it was carved later, though, it's an odd figure. There is a scan on our project page.
