I remember someone talking about that stuff a while back and describing the whole pixel art crt stuff as "people assuming that what the absolute best were doing was the norm", pointing out how devs were usually using higher quality computer screens that blurred the pixel art less than standard crts

I still can't get over the faked "concept art"
