Die Zeit davor war, ohne Frage, auch hochproblematisch. Allein das Übernehmen der Vorstellungen, entsprechend des russischen Imperialismus - vom Zarenreich bis in die Sowjetunion. Es gab Ausnahmen, aber immer wieder wurde die russische Sicht übernommen, der Ukraine die Identität abgesprochen

Die Positionen Prechts zu Russland, zur Europäischen Union, zur Außenpolitik generell und "zum Westen", den er in er immer wieder thematisiert, all das auch in Buchform, sind mir gut bekannt und nach dieser Übersicht sage ich vorsichtig aber klar, dass ich sie für höchst absurd und fragwürdig halte.

Why this is crucial:

Only if we understand the different layers of how Russian propaganda tackles us are we able to recognize the full spectrum of attacks against our societies. Overt, blatant propaganda also has the effect that we do not recognize subtle influence.

Goals:

Aimed to change certain policies:

For instance to remove sanctions or stop support for Ukraine, energy policy

Aimed to split & destabilize society:

Amplify tensions, support far-right, far-left, and other anti-establishment forces, false flag operations

Subtle messaging:

"Mild" demonization of Ukraine and the West, extremely superficial condemnation of Russian politics combined with a long list of anti-Western narratives, disguised as "criticism"

Narratives like: "NATO provoked Russia to make the mistake of invading Ukraine."

Covert:

Hidden actors, anonymous trolls, Russian-paid or manipulated Western "agents of influence", academics, "experts". They spread pro-Russian narratives, and in many cases are not detected as propagandists. Narratives can range from extreme to subtle.

Overt:

Russian media channels, Russian "diplomats and politicians", official Kremlin speakers. Obvious messaging, not only justifying but also praising the full-scale invasion, with extreme demonization of Ukraine and the West.
