2) Like any older hardware, it's normal for computers to need some repair or modification after 40 years of use. Fortunately, there are still many people with the technical knowledge to do it. I assure you that today's computers won't withstand the test of time like, for example, a C64.

Hello!
1) The apparent lack of power is due to the era in which they were created (the technological limitations of the time) and also because back then, not much power was needed. Software wasn't as demanding as it is today, and 64 KB of RAM was enough to keep us happy.
