There's a painting in our experimental tour at the RRI by Endel Tulving's wife, which feels fitting.

FYI we designed multiple, non-overlapping 'Baycrest tours' (including a computerized version), used in different studies:

Overnight memory enhancement 💤 was uniquely related to slow-wave sleep - particularly spindle-slow wave coupling 🧠(previously linked to sequential neural replay). Sleep plays an ACTIVE role in transforming memories, helping real-life sequence memory stick.

Indeed, in two studies (N = 174), sequence memory accuracy (‘‘painting X came before sculpture Y’) significantly IMPROVED with sleep (but not time-matched wake), while featural memory (‘painting X was red’) declined. Sequence memory exceeded featural memory up to a year later!
