An 8-10 point district is still a lot of ground to make up. Also, are we double-counting or making a large leap to say that a 22 point district that is cut down to 8 points is no longer a safe district? It’s still safe and the results don’t mean as much as you think, I think.

The problem with this analysis is that it ignores the fact that a safe red district can withstand adding some blue voters for the greater goal of a more gerrymandered state.
