Some fascinating detective work here by DF Lovett on the edits to Jeffrey Epstein's Wikipedia page. open.substack.com/pub/edithist...
Did Jeffrey Epstein edit his own Wikipedia article?
I think there's a good chance he did, in 2007 at least.

I've written two things about Jeffrey Epstein, Wikipedia and SEO. I'm seeing a lot of stories saying he used SEO to bury his negative results. I think a more accurate depiction is that he *tried* to do that.

This guy edited the new pope's Wikipedia page to say he was a Cubs fan—everyone was saying it, and there was a source (USA Today) to back it up.

Then the new pope's brother confirmed that Leo has always been a White Sox fan.

Lesson: Verifiability ≠ truth.

I edited Pope Leo XIV's Wikipedia article to say he was a Cubs fan.
But I'm not the one who started the rumor. I swear, I did nothing wrong.

"Intriguing" has become the #1 "AI wrote this" word for me. Normal people just don't say "intriguing" very often, while AI pretty much uses it in every paragraph.
