The main problem is the duck curve. In California, solar panels generally have to turn off because there is too much supply & not enough demand at noon. If anything, we should be more like Hawaii and pretty much demand batteries w/ solar.

Fair enough, maybe 'unpopular' is a poor word choice. I'd go with 'controversial', meaning there is enough negative valence that making it a major planks is foolish.

Gavin Wood coined the term, it later became the name of a Javascript library for connecting wallets to any EVM chain, and now the popular line is "Read, Write, Own", meaning an evolution from Web2 "Write" and Web1 "Read".
So ATProto is Web3 insofar as you "own" your data.
