About drives, multiple SF2 ones actually failed after over a decade of use

So the upgrade was needed, and they didn't just get a new server, they have a new one in Europe and a third one on an island (Australia maybe?) for redundancy and avoiding ID laws, and extra backup space, all paid by staff

FA was rewritten from 2011 to 2020, yes (then another minor rewrite in 2022, and now assorted fixes)
The old codebase is no longer supported and there are plans to abandon it, new accounts can no longer use it for example
Also the new tech lead plans a full rewrite because the "new" code also sucks
