Ancient Mediterranean historian, Cal Poly Pomona. History, the human past (those 2 aren't the same), politics, some baseball. Views here not of my institution.
Maybe in an offhand remark summarizing someone else's research? I looked a lot into angels and demons research (even convened a NAPS panel about the subject in 2018) but don't remember your distinguished & wide-ranging oeuvre coming up on that subject.

Not ethical sense but causal sense: media is now dominated by social media & rw media, while MSM is softpedaling Trump's failures. But the failures are becoming harder to deny.

I'm no political scientist but as a historian who think about cause & effect a lot I think it was the former: the polls nosedived precipitously & simultaneously within a couple weeks of the Afghan withdrawal, whereas the post-vaccine pandemic resurgence was longer-developing. But could be either!

“Never tried”?

Afghanistan precipitated the largest drop for Biden and one from which he never recovered, not Biden’s low.

And it wasn’t for the oil under Bush.

I'm sure Jeffries would love to take the gavel from Johnson.

It’ll be Thomas Massie’s House.

Look how grumpy his unbuttoned shirt is as he complains about flyers’ clothes!

Exactly what my most recent conference paper (which Dr. Swist saw delivered 2 years ago, though the published version has substantial changes) will be.
Also, nothing wrong with your research appearing in multiple platforms. I'm glad the conference paper will have part of my book for other audiences.

**clearer

I lmost always have more to say than I put in the paper. On a typical conference paper of mine the handout/ slide content and bibliography alone almost always double the length or even triple it.

Ask the editors. But my default is to leave as is unless some points are clear in spoken than in written English.

Well, it is.

But so is the Quran or Buddha’s Benares Sermon.

A historical document ≠ a religiously binding text.

Did not know that either. Thanks again!

Really good point on SNAP and GAO. Thanks for replying!

We got either #3 or #5. Thune could easily renege on his promise to hold an ACA subsidies vote.

But the aftermath of the deal has so far been favorable to Dems.
