Under the hourly 24/7 standard, Google’s global 2023 electricity emissions factor is 212 gCO2e/kWh vs. 135 gCO2e/kWh under standard MB accounting. We recommend that the AI community adopt this more accurate accounting standard for calculating the emissions associated with AI electricity consumption

Yup. Here is how their spokesperson put it..."Meta’s 100% clean energy commitment uses methodologies from the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Annually, Meta matches its electricity use with 100% clean and renewable energy on an annual basis based on megawatt-hours."
