The day ended with a futile attempt to hunt the fields at Great Gorwood. Surrounded by sabs with a drone looking down upon them, the two hunts soon gave up and headed back to the meet. 11/12

With the remaining hounds rated off the line at a nearby hedge, Thomas took them back onto Park Moor again for round two. Hounds briefly picked up a scent near Park Farm but were quickly rated off by sabs. 10/12

Even with their desperate attempts to get the hounds back on the line, the fox was long gone. 09/12

From here everything moved onto Park Moor. Not long after entering the moor the hounds got onto the line of a fox. Said fox was later seen fleeing across a nearby road. Sabs covered the line and gave the animal precious moments to escape. 06/12

Huntsman Charlie Thomas then hunted the area on foot, with sabs catching up to him attempting to put hounds into dense brambles at Cabbacott. Realising sabs were on his tail, he scurried off back to the road via a swamp of slurry that was draining into a nearby stream. 05/12

The hunts started off hacking around the lanes to the north of the meet, with a quick pause to do some tiny jumps at Howley before drawing nearby fields surrounding Greenhill, down towards the valley west of Cabbacott. 04/12

Unfortunately for them, we’d also invited some of the Mendip Famers’ local sabs along, @mendiphuntsabs.bsky.social and Somerset Sabs 02/12

Stevenstone and Mendip Farmers Hunt 29.11.25

Rees-Mogg’s favourite gang of miscreants, the Mendip Farmers Hunt were invited down to Devon this last Saturday, to hang out with the equally miserable Stevenstone Hunt, at their meet at Great Gorwood Farm, Buckland Brewer. 🧵🦊 01/12

Terriermen on their quadbikes, equipped with spades and terriers for digging-out foxes, reluctantly retreated back to the meet as well. 05/08

After riding around some boggy fields between Willtown and Grinacombe Moor, and then between Broadwood Down and Rexton, sour-faced David and his daughter Heidi led the hounds back to the meet. 04/08
December 5, 2025 at 1:48 PM
For whatever reason, the two sets of terriermen were kept hidden at the start. However, that didn’t last long - nor did the rest of their day! 03/08

Lamerton huntsman David Lewis looked less than impressed when we showed up at this meet at Upcott Barton near Broadwoodwidger, just a week after Plymouth & West Devon Hunt Sabs put a stop to his plans for the day. 02/08

Lamerton Hunt 22.11.25

Belated short and sweet report on a short and sweet sab of the Lamerton Hunt! 🦊🧵01/08

Special shout-out to hunt follower David Evans who has moved on from “I hope you’re all paying your VAT!” to entertaining us with rants about drone licensing, which he seems to know even less about than taxes. 12/15

However, intervention by sabs ensured that neither of the foxes who were hunted to ground were dug out and killed. Terrier boys Jake Crabb and Tom Bounsall were sat idle on their quadbike alongside equally jobless hunt lackey Jade all day. 11/15

Two foxes were marked to ground over the course of the day. One of these marks was in a small earth in a hedge near the meet, which Jason allowed the hounds to cause considerable damage to by digging. 10/15
December 2, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Several hounds ended up scattered as far south as Horridge while Jason and the bulk of the pack carried on drawing northwards before finishing at Goodcott and hacking back to the meet. 09/15
December 2, 2025 at 3:52 PM
After hounds chased a sheep to death in this exact area just a few weeks ago, we’re not surprised she was concerned! 08/15
December 2, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Instead of stopping them, Jason hunted hounds on all along this route. The busy stretch of the A3124 at Dolton Beacon was forced to a standstill when Jason eventually gathered the pack on the main road. Fortunately the fox got away. 05/15
December 2, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Jason spent the day drawing one field of beets/brassicas after another, as well as the woods at Dolton Beacon and Shear’s Wood and the valleys between Northcott, Furze and Bolts. 03/15
December 2, 2025 at 3:52 PM
A small team of us kept eyes on them the entire day. Several foxes were seen by our drone, their escape aided by the intervention of foot sabs on the ground. 02/15

Eggesford Hunt 17.11.25

The hunt met at Middleton’s Westacott Barton in Riddlecombe for a Monday of terrorising wildlife and local people around Riddlecombe and Ashreigney. 🧵🦊 01/15
December 2, 2025 at 3:52 PM
The hunt returned to Hatherleigh Moor for the last part of the day, although only briefly drawing coverts on the moor itself before heading north and into the woods between Brook’s Moorhead and Fishleigh Castle. 12/18
December 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Having not had much luck with the foxes so far, terrier boy Tom Bounsall tried to show off to his new love interest Jade and the group of kids on horses nearby by driving his quadbike at sabs at high speed across the field, narrowly avoiding causing a serious collision. 11/18
December 1, 2025 at 9:05 PM
The hunt eventually moved south to another patch of dense covert around Teachmore Farm before returning to Broomford via Combe. 10/18
