i tried with an outline on the model which i do like the style of but i also tried adding the shading in manually which i think i like the best so far

i made a quick dire wolf model too so this is more of a direct comparison, still cant decide...

i made a 3D test model to see what it would look like, doing it in 3D would make it way easier but i like the original style a lot too...
