Correct. Blackness was the 'curse of Cain carried through the lineage of Ham' and added in the book of Mormon in the 'Lamanites'.

Though as late as the 70s Mormonism had enshrined in its scripture that whiteness was a symbol of righteousness and people could become white by being righteous.

I personally enjoy taking a moment in a TTRPG and bringing a natural consequence in. Once in- ironically a magical girl campaign- a character ran down the side of a glass building to catch her friend who'd been thrown off- she rolled poorly so I let her push it, glass rained on the crowd below. 😅
