Honestly. I have a bus stop right outside my place. People waiting literally stand in my driveway. Sometimes I have to politely ask them to move.

But I use the bus most days, it is awesome and I love it.

I'm not necessarily agreeing with you here. I could have done with a little anthropology, sociology or something in my first job as a policy advisor, along with the data analysis skills I was hired for.
Just saying that different places do things differently.
