Never said everyone had to be profitable, but the chance for economic mobility is a good thing, else no one would attempt to be a landlord. Never said everyone is supposed to lose. Your words not mine.

Okay, but my point in the original post was about renters versus landlords...not paying for things versus not. In this country, renters have virtually no protections

True. but renters pay money and landlords make money. My point in the first post wasn't about renting vs living in a box. It was about who profits off of others. Renters are one of the most vulnerable populations of people and have virtually no protections in this country
